Some codenames are associated with more than one version number, while others are limited to only a specific one, and the reason for this inconsistency is not currently known.
Well well now that your memories have been refreshed on the previous update,its important to know that Android 6.0 Marshmallow was Released on September 29, 2015 alongside Nexus 2015 devices.
